For a self-drive enquiry, be ready to discuss:

- Who will drive, the rental dates and your intended use.

Driving documents for overseas visitors
Confirm your permission to drive in Sri Lanka before choosing a self-drive rental. Do not assume a foreign licence alone is sufficient. Requirements depend on your documents and the permission issued by the Department of Motor Traffic (DMT).

Collection & delivery
Choose a listed pickup area or ask us about another location. Collection and delivery arrangements are confirmed directly.
Include your pickup area in the enquiry. Before confirming, agree the exact location, time, delivery charge and where you will return the vehicle. For an airport arrival, flight details can be shared directly once you have spoken.
Inspect the vehicle together, record its condition and confirm the fuel level and odometer reading. Check that the agreement includes the rental period, rate, deposit and any driver or delivery arrangements.
Rental conditions
Mileage & fuel
Check your vehicle’s published mileage allowance and excess-kilometre charge. Confirm fuel, tolls and any additional charges in writing before agreeing your rental.
Deposit & payment
The vehicle-specific security deposit is separate from your rental charge. Payment methods, deposit refund timing and any deduction process must be agreed in writing before you commit. No payment is collected through this website.
Insurance & responsibility
Request the policy cover, exclusions, accident procedure and your maximum excess in writing. Do not assume zero liability or that tyres, glass, underbody or personal belongings are covered. Additional drivers must be agreed with the operator.
Rental period & changes
Check the vehicle’s minimum hire and the exact period of each published offer. Ask for late-return, extension and cancellation terms before confirmation.
Delivery & collection
Collection and delivery depend on your pickup and return areas. Agree any delivery or one-way charges and the exact collection point directly.
On the road
Inspect the vehicle together and keep a record of existing marks, mileage and fuel. Ask for the operator’s support contact and breakdown procedure at handover. Stop safely and contact the operator if a fault or incident occurs.
Common questions
How do I arrange a rental?
Choose a vehicle and select Message to prepare your dates and pickup area for WhatsApp, or give us a call. We will confirm availability, the total price and the rental terms directly. Sending an enquiry does not reserve a vehicle.
What is included in the daily rate?
Check each vehicle’s published rate, included mileage and rental conditions. Fuel, delivery and driver charges are separate unless your written quote includes them. Ask for the full breakdown before confirming.
Can I collect a car at the airport?
Ask whether handover is available at your arrival airport. Include your pickup area in the enquiry and agree the delivery charge, meeting point and arrival time directly.
Can a visitor to Sri Lanka rent a self-drive car?
Yes, subject to the operator’s document checks and valid permission to drive in Sri Lanka. Check the official Department of Motor Traffic guidance for your licence and travel dates before committing. A foreign licence alone should not be assumed sufficient.
How does the refundable deposit work?
The deposit is listed with each published rate and is separate from the rental charge. The refund timing and any agreed deductions must be confirmed in writing. Inspect the vehicle and record its condition together at collection and return.
Can I hire a car for a week or a month?
Check the published offers for your vehicle. Weekly offers cover 7 days and monthly offers cover 30 days. If a rate is on request, confirm its price, mileage and terms directly.
